I Want to Thank Me for Being My Best Self

by Travis Cao, Age 8, 826 Valencia
This poem shows the importance of saying thank you to yourself!
I Want to Thank Me for Being My Best Self

I wanna thank me for having a great memory.
I wanna thank me for having a rad memory
because I could remember stuff and talk about my family.
I like my perfect memory because I could remember stuff and use
it as a topic.

I wanna thank me for always listening because I don’t have to ask
what I’m supposed to do.
I wanna thank me for always listening because I don’t want to miss
a thing.

I wanna thank me for using stuff correctly because I don’t want to
break someone’s things.
I don’t want to break someone’s things because they will be mad
or upset.
I don’t want to make someone mad or upset because I will get in
trouble.

I wanna thank me for being playful or curious because if I wasn’t
playful or curious then I wouldn’t have any fun. I wanna thank me
for being curious because I really wanna have fun. I wanna thank
me for being playful because if I don’t play I won’t have fun.
