Students dive into documentary filmmaking, applying what they've learned about the documentary genre, story arcs, film production, and film editing to direct an original documentary film.
In the remaining sessions, students complete interviews, record voice-overs, and film additional footage for their documentary. Take as much time as needed to record and edit documentary elements, and don’t forget to celebrate your students’ hard work with a viewing party!
What Your Students Will Learn
Your students will conduct interviews with local subjects, shoot b-roll or other footage related to the topic, work together to edit footage, choose a title and theme, select music that affects the film’s presentation, and celebrate their hard work!
