We Are Here, Walking Towards the Unknown

Ryan Young
Students write personal and fictional narratives inspired by Frankenstein. Prompts include: misunderstood monsters, fears and horrors, a science experiment gone wrong, and rewriting the story.

Plotting & Storyboarding

In this session, students continue the brainstorming process and begin to organize their thinking. Students will complete a plot outline and storyboard to begin to map out their narratives before drafting.
What Your Students Will Learn

Students apply their understanding of key narrative elements toward a plot outline and storyboard.

What You Will Need

Before You Start

Before you begin this session, make sure that you have copies of all the materials needed for each student. If possible, we recommend writing your own response to one of the four project prompts before the session begins, to be shared with students during the model activity. You may also find it helpful to have a partially completed plot diagram and/or storyboard based on the same written response, though you can create this on the fly in front of students.
