The Black Lives Matter movement is a community protesting for the improvement of African American lives in the United States. There have been many unjust killings from police officers because of the way African Americans are treated. For example, Mario Woods was shot repeatedly by the San Francisco Police Department and Mike Brown, an unarmed eighteen-year-old African American, was killed by officer Darren Wilson.
Many instances of police brutality have caught people’s attention through social media. Many protesters have spoken out for the belief that people of color should have the same rights as white people. One life should matter just as much as many lives because we are all equal on the inside.
The Civil Rights Movement was led by Martin Luther King, Jr. Through his protests, marches, speeches, and voice, MLK expressed that all African Americans should have the same rights as white people. Many white people noticed and joined him in achieving his dream. Some were against him and said black people are not equal and should not have the same rights.
The Black Lives Matter movement and the Civil Rights Movement are different but have a similar connection. The Civil Rights Movement was about how African Americans should have rights and how both whites and black people can be equal. The Black Lives Matter movement is about protesters, both black and white, saying a person of color’s life should be just as important as a white person’s life.
Both of these movements are focused on getting rights for people of color, whites and black people working together, ending racism, and using non-violent protests and marches.
El movimiento de Black Lives Matter es una comunidad protestando para las vidas de afroamericanos viviendo en los estados unidos. Ha habido varias asesinatos injustas en parte de la policía por la manera que los tratan. Por ejemplo, Mario Woods fue disparado repetidamente por el departamento de policía de San Francisco y Mike Brown, un desarmado afroamericano que tenía dieciocho años, fue matado por el oficial Darren Wilson.
Muchas instancias de brutalidad por parte de la policía han obtenido la atención del público por medio de medios de comunicación social. Varios manifestantes han protestado en parte de la creación que una persona de color debe que tener los mismos derechos que una persona caucásica. Una vida debería valorar como varias porque todos somos parejos adentro.
