What Your Students Will Learn

You will learn how to identify your creative goals, and then use sensory language to develop the events and experiences that have shaped you and your values.

What You Will Do

STEP 1

First, watch the video. In your writing journal, free-write your answer to these questions: What do you think is 1 of NaBeela’s values as a writer based on what she shared in the video? How do you think a writer can shape their career based on their values?

STEP 2

Next, write down a few of your creative goals, on page 1 in the Writing & Creativity — Handout. Dream big—nothing is impossible!

STEP 3

Now, find the Memory Mapping Planner on page 2 in the handout. Each question will prompt you to write about a specific memory that’s tied to each of the 5 senses. Make sure you include the precise words and telling details of each memory so that you have a vivid picture of the experience on the page.
