In this session, students will identify a social issue that they care about, come up with solutions to the issue, and create a “call-to-action” slogan and poster to get others involved.
Introduction :

In this lesson, students are asked to write about a cause that they are passionate about and imagine how they can create change in the world. Your students will identify a social issue that they want to solve, describe why it is important to them, and start to think of possible solutions.

Session 1:

Your students will identify and write about a cause that they are passionate about and produce a slogan and a “call-to-action” poster.

You Will Need
  • Paper
  • Writing utensils
  • Art supplies (markers, colored pencils, construction paper, scissors, glue)
  • Presentation or handout with examples of current cause-based campaigns (these could be billboards, memes, videos, posters, etc.)
  • Chalkboard, easel, or projector
