What Your Students Will Produce

What You Will Do

Before the Civil War was over, the United States Congress established an agency to help former slaves rebuild their lives. There were also universities that opened for Black
students, which are known as Historically Black Colleges and Universities, or HBCUs. In Nashville, the Freedmen’s Bureau partnered with a religious group known as the American Missionary Association and build the Fisk School for Colored in 1866. This institution is now known as Fisk University. Most likely in your life, you have madedecisions on whether to help someone. In thinking on whether to help someone, what determines whether or not you decide to help someone? Write a paragraph explaining your process. Ensure you include an example.
