  • The main goal of this lesson is to help students express parts of their identity. While this lesson can be completed at any time of the year, we recommend completing it during the first week – month of school as way to learn more about your students.
  • We recommend that you complete each page of the handout yourself, both as an example of and as a way to introduce yourself to your students! 

STEP 1

Pass out pages 1 and 2 of the Character-O-Matic: Who I Am—Handout. Share with students that the Character-O-Matic is an imaginary machine that helps writers create new and exciting characters.
